This series of blurry photos shows some of the stuff I've had to go through while working on my reduction boxes from my 1967 VW Bus.  The first 2 photos show how I removed the cap out of the boxes using a home made puller and nut welded onto the cap which is later ground off upon reassembly.  The yellow piece of metal was found by pure chance already bent with the hole drilled in it in my box of scrap iron.  That'll never happen again.

The last photo shows my home made vise.  I strapped the redux box to the maple tree in the front yard using a ratchet tie down strap.  This arrangement allowed my brother and I to remove the nut on the lower shaft behind the metal cap.  It was on TIGHT but we won the war and broke it loose.
